Manowar - Thunder in the Sky ( 2009 ) EP

Antecedendo o lançamento de “Hammer of the Gods: The Asgard Saga”, o Manowar disponibiliza esse EP, que conta com um presente para os fãs das mais diversas partes do mundo. A música “Father”, além de sua versão em inglês, foi gravada em outros quinze idiomas, incluindo o “nosso” português.

Quanto às outras faixas, quem ficou desapontado pela falta de peso no último disco, quando a banda deu mais ênfases a passagens orquestradas, pode ficar com uma pontinha de esperança. A canção que dá nome ao trabalho é um Heavy Metal de primeira linha, assim como “Let the Gods Decide”. O play também conta com uma nova versão para a clássica "The Crown and the Ring", do histórico "Kings of Metal", de 1988. E podem falar o que quiser sobre o visual e os discursos e poses totalmente ensaiadas, mas é difícil encontrar um vocalista com a competência de Eric Adams, que é mais uma vez o destaque.

Steelheart - Tangled in reins ( 1992 )

Diferenciando-se do seu antecessor em quesitos como energia e produção, "Tangled in Reins" pode ser considerado o êxtase da curta carreira do Steelheart. Não só as músicas estão mais bem trabalhadas mas também influências de outros estilos musicais estão mais aparentes do que nunca. Se o Skid Row tem em "18 and Life" a sua "balada dark", o Steelheart tem em "Steelheart" a sua. Outra grande canção de "Tangled in Reins" é "Mamma Don't You Cry" que despontou primeiro lugar absoluto em vários países asiáticos. Esse disco conta também com "Dancing In The Fire", a música que o Steelheart estava tocando ao vivo quando Mike Matijevic sofreu o acidente que quase o matou.

Steelheart - Wait ( 1996 )

Em uma apresentação em que abriam para o Slaughter em noite de halloween, o vocalista Mike Matijevic, com sua presença de palco inconfundível, resolve escalar a torre de luz que se encontrava no palco. De repente, na frente de 13000 pessoas, ele cai junto com a torre de iluminação (que caiu em sua cabeça, quase esmagando-a!).
Com o nariz e o maxilar quebrados, a coluna torcida e 28 pontos na nuca, ele foi levado para o hospital. Ao sair de lá, sofreu com dores de cabeça e perda de memória. Diagnosticaram-no como portador de TBI (ferimento traumático no cérebro) e, durante o tratamento, o vocalista não obteve resultados significativos, perdendo todo seu dinheiro e até mesmo a família.
Em seu retorno, lançaram o disco Wait, que levou um processo curioso, pois foi durante a mixagem desse disco que o vocalista recuperou a memória enquanto estava sentado numa cadeira. Um disco que até é considerado um solo de Matijevic, pois não contém a formação dos outros 2 discos e nem se assemelha com a sonoridade dos outros discos. Mas não deixa de ser um discão!
